The Fiumedinisi and Monte Scuderi Oriented Nature Reserve, located within the municipalities of Alì, Fiumedinisi, Itala, Monforte S. Giorgio, Nizza di Sicilia, S. Lucia del Mela, and S. Pier Niceto in the province of Messina, is a natural paradise open to exploration in all seasons.
Established in 1998 by decree of the Regional Department of Territory and Environment, the reserve aims to protect the geological layers and the significant presence of the Sicilian rock partridge. Recognized as a Special Conservation Area under the Habitats Directive, the reserve is managed by the "Regional Department of Rural and Territorial Development."
Habitat, Flora and Fauna
Stretching along the Ionian Peloritani slope, the protected area boasts a remarkable diversity of natural habitats and hosts a rich fauna, complemented by a significant migratory bird population. Monte Scuderi and Castello Belvedere
